すべるように動くスクーターで走る

Definition

地面やスクーターの上ですべるようにすばやく動くこと。また、静かにすばやく移動したり去ったりすることも表す。

子どもが乗り物で動く時や、動物が体をすべらせる時によく使う。'scoot over'は「席などをずらす」、'scooting away'は「さっと離れる」の意味で使われる。フォーマルな表現ではない。

The children are scooting around the park on their scooters.
