Definition

スプーンなど丸い道具で何かをすくい取ったり移したりすること。主にアイスクリームやスープを取り分けるときに使う。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

日常会話でよく使われ、特にアイスクリームやスープなど柔らかいものに関連します。「scooping ice cream」「scooping soup」などでよく使われ、大きくて硬い物には使いません。
