物や人などをさまざまな方向にばらまいたり、散らしたりすること。一か所に集まっていたものを分散させるイメージです。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「まき散らす」はモノにも人にも使えます。「播く」よりも無秩序に広げるイメージ。「scatter seeds」は「種をまき散らす」、「crowd scatter」は「群衆がバラバラになる」と訳されます。
