누군가를 무섭게 하거나 겁주다라는 의미이고, 때때로 일시적인 불안이나 위기 상황을 말할 때도 쓴다.

Usage Notes (Korean)

주로 동사로 'It scares me.'처럼 3인칭 단수형으로 많이 쓰임. 'scare someone', 'scare someone away', 'scare someone into doing something' 같은 표현이 있음. 'health scares'처럼 일시적 위기 상황을 나타내기도 함. 'afraid'(느낌)과 구분.
