'স্ক্যালপেল' মূলত অস্ত্রোপচার বা চিকিৎসা সম্পর্কিত ক্ষেত্রে ব্যবহৃত হয়। সাধারণ ছুরি নয়, বিশেষ অস্ত্র। 'sterile scalpel', 'disposable scalpel' ইত্যাদির মতো শব্দগুলো পাওয়া যায়।
