Definition

近くの場所に短時間で急いで歩いたり走ったりして行くこと。たいていちょっとした用事や訪問に使います。

カジュアルな場面でよく使う表現。用事やおつかいで「ちょっと行ってくる」と言うときに便利。「run over」（車にひかれる）とは違うので注意。
