Definition
La raíz de una planta es la parte que crece bajo tierra y absorbe agua y nutrientes. También puede significar la causa básica, el origen o la parte más profunda de algo.
Usage Notes (Spanish)
Se usa tanto en sentido literal como figurado. 'Root' aparece mucho en expresiones como 'the root of the problem' y 'root cause'. No lo confundas con el verbo 'root for' en inglés americano, que significa apoyar a un equipo o a una persona.
