Definition
人や物に向かって大きな声や怒鳴り声、または動物のうなり声をあげること。ライオンなどの動物や、人が怒って大声を出す時に使う。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
動物の「ほえる」にはもちろん、人の激しい怒鳴りや大声にも使える表現。「shout at」より激しさがあるニュアンス。
