죽거나 사라진 사람이나 대상을 다시 살아나게 하거나 활동하게 만드는 것. 전통이나 아이디어 등에도 쓸 수 있음.

‘부활시키다’는 사람이나 동물의 생명을 되살릴 때나, 전통·유행·생각 등을 다시 활성화할 때 모두 사용됨. 의미에 따라 다소 무겁거나 가볍게 쓰일 수 있음.
