Definition

他に方法がなくなったとき、やむを得ず何かに頼ること。多くの場合、望ましくない手段を取ることを指す。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

多くの場合「resorting to」の形で使われ、嫌々ながら選ぶ意味合いがある。否定的な場面で用いられることが多い。「リゾート地を訪れる」という意味ではないので注意。
