صيغة الماضي من 'resort (to)'، تعني استخدام أو فعل شيء لأنه لا يوجد خيار أفضل، غالباً كحل أخير.

عادةً تستخدم 'resorted' مع 'to' وبعدها اسم أو فعل ('resorted to violence'). تدل على عدم وجود خيارات أخرى أو اضطرار. رسمية وتكثر في الكتابة. لا علاقة لها بكلمة 'resort' (منتجع سياحي).
