Definition

질병이나 부상을 치료하기 위해 장기, 조직, 구조물의 일부를 외과적으로 제거하는 수술입니다.

주로 병원이나 외과에서 공식적으로 사용됩니다. '장 절제술', '종양 절제술'과 같은 표현이 많으며, 'excision'(완전 제거), 'biopsy'(조직 검사)와는 구분됩니다. 대소 수술 모두에 사용됩니다.
