Definition

কোনো কিছু ভাগ করে দিলে বা ব্যবহার করার পর যেগুলো থেকে যায়, সেগুলো অবশিষ্ট বা ভাগশেষ হিসেবে পরিচিত। এটি বিশেষ করে গাণিতিক ভাগে ব্যবহৃত হয়, আবার সাধারণ অপ্রয়োজনীয় অংশ বোঝাতেও বলা হয়।

গণিতে বিশেষ করে 'remainder' তখন ব্যবহার হয় যখন কোন সংখ্যা ভাগ করার পর কিছু অংশ অখণ্ডভাবে রয়ে যায়। দৈনন্দিন কথায় এটি অব্যবহৃত জাতীয় কিছু বোঝাতেও ব্যবহৃত হয়।
