Definition

굴절은 빛이나 소리, 기타 파동이 한 매질에서 다른 매질로 들어갈 때 방향이 꺾이는 현상입니다. 예를 들어 물속에 빨대가 들어가면 휘어 보이는 것이 이에 해당합니다.

주로 과학, 물리, 광학 분야에서 사용됩니다. "angle of refraction", "index of refraction" 같은 표현에서 자주 등장합니다. 반사(reflection)와 다른 개념이므로 혼동하지 마세요.
