Definition

文章や発表で何かについて言及したり、出典を示したりすること。

主に学術論文や正式な文書で使用され、出典の明示が重要なときに使います。日常会話で単なる言及の場合は「refer（言及する）」を使います。

She is referencing several books in her essay.
