出来事や場面を再び演じること、特に歴史的な出来事や場面を当時のように再現して演じること。

主に舞台、歴史、教育など公式な場面で使われます。'reenact a battle'（戦いを再現する）などの表現で、単なる繰り返しではなく「再現・演技」の意味を強く持ちます。
