Daha çok resmî veya edebi metinlerde, 'reaps the benefits' (faydalarını elde eder), 'reaps what he sows' (ne ekerse onu biçer) gibi mecazi anlamlarda kullanılır. Meyve toplamak için kullanılmaz.
