誰かが失敗したときに、感情的に強く叱ること。厳しく注意する意味。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

とてもくだけた表現で、ビジネスや大人同士でよく使われます。「scold」より厳しく感情的です。怒った時や強い否定的な場面に使います。字義的な意味はありません。
