특정 책, 자료, 장치 등에서 글이나 정보를 보고 이해하는 것. 정보가 어디서 왔는지 나타낼 때 주로 사용됨.

'read from the book', 'read from the screen'처럼 지시나 설명에서 흔히 쓰임. 일반적인 읽기에는 '읽다'만 사용.
