通常由金屬或木頭製成的長條狀護欄，常出現在樓梯、陽臺或走道邊緣，用於安全防護。

“Railings” 幾乎只用複數，指整體的護欄，如樓梯、陽臺常見。不要和火車軌道 “rails” 混淆。
