誰かと言い争ったり、怒って口論したりすること。たいてい言葉で、身体的な争いではありません。

日常会話より書き言葉で使われることが多い表現です。「fight」ほど激しくなく「disagree」より強いニュアンスがあります。「〜と口論する」「〜と喧嘩する」と訳されます。
