何かや誰かを得る、達成する目的で追いかけたり、努力したりすること。実際に追う場合や、目標達成に向けて努力する場合に使います。

書き言葉やフォーマルな場面でよく使います。'pursues a career'→「キャリアを追求する」、'pursues his dreams'→「夢を追い求める」など、実際の追跡だけでなく目標への努力にも用います。
