コネを使う

Definition

自分や他人の利益のために、こっそりとコネや人脈を利用して物事を進めること。

やや否定的なニュアンスがあり、「不公平に便宜を図る」ときに使われる。字義通りの「糸を引く」ではないので注意。

He pulled strings to get his brother a job.

彼は弟のために**コネを使った**。

大学に入るのに**コネを使う**なんてできないよ。
