Definition

경쟁이나 경주에서 다른 사람들보다 앞서 나가는 것. 성과나 진전 면에서 남들보다 앞서는 것도 의미함.

주로 스포츠, 비즈니스, 경쟁 상황에서 비공식적으로 사용함. '경주에서 앞서다', '경쟁에서 앞서 나가다'와 같이 자주 쓰임. 실제로 무언가를 끄는 의미로 쓰이지 않음.

He started slow but managed to pull ahead in the last lap.
