獲物を探したり攻撃の機会をうかがって、静かに注意深く歩き回ること。主に動物や何かを狙っている人に使う。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に動物（特に猫）や、こっそり行動する人に使う。「prowl the streets」「at night」などのフレーズでよく使われる。普通の移動には使わず、隠れた目的や狩りの意味を含む。
