앞으로 있을 일이나 단계를 준비하기 위해 미리 하는 것을 의미합니다. 주로 본격적인 활동이나 과정, 단계 전에 사용됩니다.

주로 공식적이거나 학문적인 상황에서 사용됩니다. 'preparatory course'(준비 과정), 'preparatory work'(준비 작업)처럼 명사 앞에 붙어 쓰이고, 단독으로는 잘 사용되지 않습니다.
