早産児とは、妊娠37週未満で生まれた赤ちゃんのことです。

「早産児」はやや口語的ですが、医療現場や親同士の会話で使われます。フォーマルな場面では「未熟児」とも言います。「preemie care」は「早産児ケア」となります。
