Diễn tả điều gì đó xảy ra hoặc tồn tại ngay trước một sự vật hoặc sự việc khác.

'Trước đó' dùng trong văn viết, văn bản học thuật. Thường đi với các danh từ như "trang", "năm", "phần". Chỉ ngay sát phía trước, phân biệt với 'trước' thông thường.
