즐겁거나 관심을 끌기 위해 다리를 높이 들어 활기차게 걷거나 뛰는 것. 주로 동물(특히 말)이나 장난기 많은 사람이 그렇게 걷는다.

평범한 걷기에 쓰지 않고, 동물(특히 말)이나 장난치는 사람의 살아있는 걸음 동작에 사용. 'prance around'는 이리저리 신나게 돌아다니는 뜻.
