'Ponders' औपचारिक है और आमतौर पर गहरे या आधिकारिक संदर्भों में उपयोग होता है। प्राय: 'ponders a question', 'ponders her options' के साथ मिलता है। 'wonders' (जिज्ञासा) या 'considers' (कम गहराई) से भ्रमित न हों।
