Pensar de forma profunda e cuidadosa sobre algo, muitas vezes antes de tomar uma decisão ou formar uma opinião.

Mais formal ou literário do que 'thinking'. É especialmente usado quando se trata de pensamentos sérios, lentos ou sobre grandes decisões. Costuma ser acompanhado de 'about' ou 'over': 'pondering about life', 'pondering over a question'.
