アンケートや調査、投票などで質問を受けた人やものを指します。まれに角のない動物も指すことがあります。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に調査や統計で使われます。“people polled”は「調査対象者」を指します。'pole'（棒）と混同しないよう注意。動物の意味は日常使いません。
