素早く突然に何かに飛び込む、または落ち込むこと。水や状況の急な変化、急激な減少にも使う。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
水に「plunges into the pool」や急落「the stock market plunges」などでよく使う。『dives』（より制御された）や『drops』（あまり劇的でない）とは違うニュアンス。
