건물, 다리, 부두 등을 지탱하기 위해 땅이나 물속에 깊이 박는 길고 튼튼한 말뚝입니다.

주로 건설, 토목, 해양 분야에서 사용됩니다. ‘dock pilings’, ‘bridge pilings’와 같이 복수로 자주 쓰이며, 작은 말뚝에는 사용하지 않습니다.
