Definition
Continuar existiendo, ocurriendo o haciendo algo durante mucho tiempo, especialmente cuando es difícil o alguien intenta detenerlo.
Usage Notes (Spanish)
Es más formal; se usa mucho para problemas, sentimientos o hábitos que siguen a pesar de obstáculos. Común: 'el dolor persiste', 'el problema persiste', 'si el síntoma persiste'. No se usa para cosas puntuales.
