어려움이나 방해에도 불구하고 어떤 행동이나 상태를 계속하다.

어려움에도 행동이나 상태가 계속될 때 주로 사용한다. 'persisted in'처럼 뒤에 동작이 올 때가 많다. 'kept going'보다 격식 있고, 'insisted'(강하게 주장하다)와는 다름.

He persisted until he solved the problem.
