争いや戦争などの場面で、他者の間に平和を築こうと努力する人々や団体のこと。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

ややフォーマルな表現で、複数形で使われることが多い。国際関係や地域の対立解決の文脈でよく用いられる。「調停者」「外交官」と近い意味。拳銃の意味と混同しないこと。
