Definition

下半身が動かせず、足や腰から下の感覚がない人のこと。主に脊髄損傷や病気が原因で起こります。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に医学用語やフォーマルな場面で使います。人柄や性格ではなく、体の状態を表します。「頸髄損傷（四肢麻痺）」とは異なります。「対麻痺の人」のように使われます。
