Definition

胸壁は、屋上やバルコニー、橋などの端に設けられる低い壁や柵で、安全や装飾のために作られます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に建築や工事に関する専門用語として使用されます。日常会話ではあまり使いません。「parapet（胸壁）の上に立つ」などの表現で見かけます。「手すり（railing）」とは異なり、多くの場合 벽状（壁の形）です。
