Definition

速く強いリズムで動いたり打ったりすること。特に心臓が速く鼓動する時に使われます。

主に心臓に使われ、興奮や緊張、強い感情で心臓が速くなる時に用います。他の“脈打つもの”にも使いますが、フォーマル寄りの表現です。

My heart was palpitating after I ran up the stairs.
