Definition

Usa-se para indicar um local distante tanto de quem fala como de quem ouve; quer dizer 'naquele lugar longe daqui.'

Muito frequente para indicar lugares visíveis e afastados. Não confundir com 'here' (aqui) que indica proximidade, ou 'there' (lá) que pode ser mais geral. Costuma ser dito ao apontar.
