特定の目的や方向を持って意図的に設計・配置されていること。人や方針、物事が特定の分野や目的を重視する場合などに使う。

主にイギリス英語で使われ、アメリカ英語では 'oriented' の方が一般的です。'customer-orientated' や 'goal-orientated' のように何に重きを置いているかを強調する表現で、ビジネスやフォーマルな場面によく使います。「oriental」との混同に注意。

This training is orientated towards new employees.
