勤務時間中に働いている、または給料をもらいながら仕事をしている状態を表します。また、時間を計られている場合にも使います。

職場でカジュアルに使われます。「勤務中に許可された行動かどうか」を話す際によく使われます。スポーツやパフォーマンスが計られる仕事でも使います。

He cannot take personal calls while he's on the clock.
