'Occupies' का अर्थ है जगह या समय लेना, या किसी स्थान में रहना या उसका उपयोग करना। यह किसी को व्यस्त रखने के लिए भी प्रयोग होता है।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

यह औपचारिक या सामान्य उपयोग में आता है। ख़ासकर स्थान ('occupies a room'), स्थिति ('the company occupies the top spot'), या समय ('the meeting occupies two hours') के लिए इस्तेमाल होता है। ध्यान/रुचि जैसे भावों के लिए भी कभी-कभी प्रयोग होता है। रोज़मर्रा की बातचीत में, किसी के कहीं रहने को बताने के लिए 'is' या 'lives in' ज़्यादा आम है।
