新手是指對某個主題、技能或活動剛入門的人；即初學者。也可以指剛加入某個團體、宗教或組織的人。
Usage Notes (Chinese (Traditional))
比「初學者」更正式，多用於學術、專業或宗教場合。常與「投資者」、「園丁」等並用。日常口語更常用「新手」而非「neophyte」。
