何かについて決断する前に、じっくりと深く考えること。まれにワインなどを温めて香辛料を加える意味もあります。

'mull over' というフレーズでよく使われ、「じっくり考える」という意味。フォーマルや中立的な場面で使われ、'maul'（攻撃する）とは意味が違うので注意。

I need to mull over your offer before I decide.

決める前にあなたの提案を**熟考**したいです。
