땅에 물이 고여 진흙이 된 구멍이나 웅덩이로, 주로 비 온 뒤나 습한 곳에서 생깁니다.

‘진흙구덩이’는 주로 시골이나 야외, 비포장 도로나 논밭 등에서 쓰입니다. 아스팔트나 도시 환경에서는 거의 사용하지 않습니다.
