Definition

車やトラックが高速かつ長距離移動できるように作られた広い道路です。複数の車線があり、信号や横断は通常ありません。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「motorways」は主にイギリス英語で使われ、アメリカ英語では「highways」や「freeways」と呼ばれます。街中の道路には使いません。
