어금니는 입 안 뒤쪽에 위치한 큰 이로, 음식물을 씹고 갈아주는 역할을 합니다.

'어금니'는 복수로 쓸 때 뒤쪽의 큰 이를 모두 가리킵니다. '지치(사랑니)'는 'wisdom molars'에 해당합니다. 앞니나 송곳니와 구분해야 합니다.
