의태는 다른 생물이나 사람의 행동, 모습, 소리를 흉내 내어 보호받거나 주위에 잘 섞이도록 하는 현상입니다. 오락 목적으로도 사용됩니다.

의태는 생물학 용어로 많이 쓰이며 ('동물 의태' 등), 개그맨이나 배우의 흉내에도 사용됩니다. 일상적인 단순 모방에는 잘 쓰이지 않습니다.
